When Jackie Kennedy was a college student in the 1950’s, she visited Ireland and made a connection with Priest Fr Joseph Leonard. The two exchanged letters before the former American first lady lived in the White House. According to an Irish Times report, Kennedy discovered Fr Leonard had kept his letters long after their correspondence. After his death in 1964, they ended up at All Hallow’s College. After hearing the news, Kennedy requested copies to remember “many things” she had forgotten. She even offered her side of the letter to the financially troubled school.
