A little known competition on the Emerald Isle just finished up- The annual effort to identify Ireland’s cleanest towns and villages. Kilkenny claimed first place, being named the tidiest town in the nation for the first time since 1985. The tidiest village title went to Clonegal in County Carlow. The competition is put together each year by the Ireland’s Department of the Environment and is growing each year, with more than 800 entries this time around. Watch out, Ireland is really going green this time.
