Complete The Collection
This new member of ShanOre's collection, fashioned in 10 karat yellow gold, combines the traditional Celtic Trinity knot form with a fresh interpretation of knot design, creating a piece of wearable contemporary art. The loops that contain the Trinity knot are studded in diamonds framed by tiny, silver-plated globes. A double-toned set of strands hugs the pendant like arms ensuring the safety of something, or someone, precious. For those who prefer a slightly different aesthetic, 10 karat white gold is also available.
History of The Celtic Trinity Knot
Before the Trinity knot carried a religious meaning, it was associated with goddesses. The Celts of long ago idolized a moon goddess, whom the knot emblemized perfectly, the three corners representing the waxing, waning, and full stages of the moon. Nowadays, anyone can interpret the three loops of the design in a way that makes the most sense to him or her. Common readings include past, present, and future; love, protection, and honor; and life, death, and rebirth. The central place at which all three ropes of the knot meet implies that this shape possesses a core energy that radiates outward in the sweeping arcs of the loops. No matter how a person views the knot, however, most agree that this figure comments on the constantly regenerating quality of the human spirit.
Moving Mind, Open Heart
Such an unconventional pendant can only be honoring the uniqueness of its owner. The diamonds call attention to her lively and posh side, while the dependably beautiful gold ropes highlight her comfort with time-tested customs. But this individual is also someone who likes to entertain various perspectives, to play with form and style, and to challenge people's expectations, in many aspects of her life. Her mind is always thinking, always moving. Her heart is open to new experiences, but faithful to her intuitions. All in all, she sees her identity as a woman, as well as her identity as a person connected to Irish culture, as compacted into one secure package.
